Na bloedstollend optreden tijdens de laatste avond van de B.B. Kings Blues Club and Grill in NYC kondigde multi-Grammy Award winnende blues Buddy Guy de aankomende release aan van zijn gloednieuwe studioalbum The Blues Is Alive And Well.
The Blues Is Alive And Well bevat gastoptredens van Mick Jagger over "You Did The Crime," Keith Richards & Jeff Beck on "Cognac," en James Bay op "Blue No More." Grammy Award winnende producent / songwriter en vaste medewerker Tom Hambridge produceerde het album. The Blues Is Alive And Well is de opvolger van Guy's 2015 veelgeprezen album "Born To Play Guitar", dat binnenkwam op # 1 in de Top Blues-albumgrafieken van Billboard. Het album markeerde Guy's vijfde nummer 1 album en twaalfde Top 10 Billboard Blues album.
