LISZT, F. - VIA CRUCIS
Reinbert de Leeuw maakt zich al jaren sterk voor de late werken van Franz Liszt. Het is muziek die het aardse ontstijgt, die grenst aan diepe meditatie. In de jaren tachtig nam hij al een bekroonde plaat op met Liszts Via Crucis in de versie voor koor en piano, en een paar jaar geleden registreerde hij de van alle franje ontdane versie voor piano solo en voegde hij er de bewerking voor viool en piano van La Notte aan toe. Onthutsende muziek die ‘iedereen moet horen’, aldus MusicWeb International.
