Op Eurosonic was deze dame uit Birmingham een van de hoogtepunten volgens de pers. Het optreden wat ze gaf in Forum Images maakte behoorlijk indruk. NRC noemde haar 'sensationeel', OOR vindt haar 'de belofte van 2013' en van 3voor12 kreeg ze een 7,5 voor haar optreden: 'Een muzikant die een breed publiek kan imponeren met haar stem'. Mvula eindigde als nummer 4 bij BBC's Sound of 2013 en kwam in de shortlist van de BRIT Award of Critic's Choice.

Eerder mocht de wereld al genieten van haar imponerende EP 'She', nu is het tijd voor haar debuutalbum Sing To The Moon. Hou deze dame in de gaten!

Laura Mvula has made an incredible impression in recent months. Nominee for the 2013 BRITs Critics’ Choice Award and ranked in fourth place for the BBC Sound of 2013, she has earned rave reviews since servicing of her first single ‘She’, from media and tastemakers including the Evening Standard who described her as ‘the voice of 2013’.

Current single ‘Green Garden’ is enjoying playlist support from radio stations ranging from 6Music and XFM to Radio 1, where it moved up to the A-list today, with a performance on The Graham Norton show confirmed on Feb 8th and performances/interviews also now confirmed for BBC Breakfast, Sky News and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.

Word has spread further afield also, with early media interest in France, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Japan and Australia, while plans are already underway in the US around Laura’s upcoming SXSW shows.
